The mission of the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center is to increase the global competitiveness of Texas’ 20,000 small manufacturers by providing assistance in the appropriate use of technologies and techniques. TMAC offices are located throughout Texas and are staffed with trained specialist who are experts in upgrading manufacturing operations.

  TMAC assistance is available to any small Texas company that manufactures a product. TMAC's trained specialist respond to customer requests by working directly with the company on-site. Trained manufacturing specialist make confidential recommendations to company management and can implement operational improvements as requested.

The Lubbock office of the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center is administered by Texas Tech University in partnership with the Texas Department of Economic Development. TMAC is an affiliate of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership of the U.S. Department of Commerce National Institute of Standards and Technology. Funding for the center is provided by NIST, the State of Texas, and local partner organizations.
